June 2000

Welcome to the June newsletter. The Winter chill is starting to set in but the SCSC is not quite in hibernation... yet... here's the latest...

Last month...

Evening Ride - The ride to Harry’s Café on wheels went well with 5 scooters braving the night. A quick ride down to the wharf to grab a hotdog and back through the new tunnel for a beer back at the Duke, a nice way to break up the week.

This month...

The next meeting Wednesday 7th - there has been no ride out planned for this meeting.

Fred’s Place, Queen's Birthday - Overnight camping at Colo Heights, Fred and Enlong are offering their hospitality to those who wish to come and visit for one or more of these days or those who wish to come and stay over for any of the evenings. Bring your own meat, camping gear, sleep in a tent or share the floor of he house. A big bonfire is being provided for cooking on, bring along your best ghost stories, fireworks or entertainment.

As part of the meeting we will be working out a plan for Fred's place and let Fred know who is coming and when.

Next month...

It's up for grabs -it looks like the SCSC will be hibernating over winter, only venturing out to meet at the Duke for the traditional Wednesday night drink. I will be taking a break from organizing anything but others are welcome to do something and we can let people know through the newsletter.

There is a Ska band called Backy Skank who are keen to do something. If anyone wants to organize a SCSC event like this they can contact Paul Cooper (Mobile 041 381 4118) and see what you can come up with. Let me know the details and I'll put it in the next newsletter.
