Sydney City Scooter Club February 2001

Welcome to the first newsletter of the New Year. I hope that you all had a great break and are fully recovered from your hangovers. There's a lot to look forward to so I better get on with the news...

Club Stuff...

Finding it hard to know where to take you scoot for that special something? Simon is putting together a list of painters, mechanics and anything else that is a scooter related service. When he has compiled the list we'll be sticking it in the newsletter for the benefit of all. If you know of someone that provides good service for scooters (e.g. a panel beater or upholster) pass the details on to Simon at the meeting or email SimonH@ideaworks.com.au

Club Patches to give you an update, Simon has managed to track down the supplier and original artwork so a new batch of patches will not be far off.

Canetoads Scooter Club - Has started up again in Brisbane. Anyone wanting to contact them you ring Brent (07) 3397-4680.

Saigon Scooter Club, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam - (email received) a special offer for dedicated Scooterists - Friends and fellow scooterists around the world, we would like to introduce you to this special deal which we have been putting together for the last year or so ... Firstly, I should introduce ourselves. We are long-term British Scooterists who have been living in Vietnam for a number of years. We founded the Saigon Scooter Club in 1994. We ride Lambrettas or Vespas daily - all year round - and would like other like-minded people to enjoy this opportunity to visit an up-and-coming travel destination, including sections riding fully restored Italian Scooters!  Our Scootering background, combined with in-country knowledge and travel know-how will ensure that this trip is a beauty. Excluding your international air-fare and Vietnam visa, we are offering a 15-day tour which is as good or better than a normal trip from a package company, for just US$1000 per person! What's more, if you can gather a full group (10 people - maximum) we will knock off a full ten per cent! All you need to do is to visit this website link to learn more.. http://saigonsc.8m.com Thank you for your time, we look forward to hearing from you soon.

This month...

* Wednesday 7th February, Club Meeting - As you can tell by looking outside, it will be raining, so there won't be a ride out this meeting. No doubt you'll be there anyway and we'll sort out what we can do this year as far as scooting goes.

* Tuesday 13th February, Moonlight Cinema, A Clockwork Orange - If it ever stops raining, then we'll either meet at the Duke 7:00PM or outside the Centennial Park Amphitheatre (Enter via Woollahra Gate Oxford Street) 7:30PM. Films start at sundown and tickets are $13.50. Note: it has a Licensed bar and gourmet catering by Chow for Now.
